Experience

Amy Baggaley
Amy Baggaley Museum and Heritage Consultant Yorkshire

I am a Freelance Museum Professional specialising in developing exciting object focused learning programmes, with communicating knowledge through innovative interpretative projects.

I started my own consultancy business in April 2017, building on ten years’ experience at York Museums Trust: working as part of the senior management team and leading learning and curatorial staff to deliver a consistently high quality learning service, recognised for its best practice.

In addition, I have experience of managing large scale exhibition design projects and in creating engaging interpretation. In 2009/10 I co-curated and project managed the £2 million redevelopment of the Yorkshire Museum.  In 2012/13 I played a key role in developing a successful £1.2 million HLF bid and subsequent delivery of the Activity Plan for York Castle Museum.

My previous experience includes working with a wide range of audiences; promoting skills and workforce development with a particular focus on STEM, and teaching secondary school science.

I have a PGCE (Secondary Science) from the University of York and a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Biology from the University of St Andrews.

Partners & Associates

I work with specialist associates and partners including; artists, actors, reenactors,  educators, film makers, animators and designers, to ensure I can deliver the very best standard of service. For larger scale commissions, exhibition work and HLF/NLHF supported projects I also have established partnerships with local museum consultants with curatorial and visitor services management experience.
