Testimonials

‘Amy has worked with us over the last two years to develop new workshops and online learning resources at Cannon Hall Museum, as part of the NHLF funded ‘Parks for People’ project. She has also delivered training sessions to our staff and engaging CPD sessions for teachers. She has always been very reliable and delivered on time and budget, and has developed innovative and creative activities which have received positive feedback from pupils and teachers. Amy is a pleasure to work with and brought a wealth of heritage and education experience to the table. She took the time to really get to know the site and research what would work well there in order to produce really bespoke resources, and we are delighted with the results. I would recommend working with Amy to anybody!’

'Amy was the consultant on our Heritage Lottery Fund project to develop learning experiences for schools visiting the museum. This was a complex project over a whole year. It included working with the team of museum volunteers, engagement with local schools, development of museum activities and materials and how these are presented through our website.

Throughout the project Amy was highly professional and brimming with ideas, backed up by examples and lots of information. She chaired discussions with the school science leaders and the volunteers very well, always being well prepared. She considerably exceeded the brief and all her work was high quality.

We highly recommend Amy.'

'Amy’s brief was to develop all the school’s learning packages for Blackpool’s new Museum. It has been an absolute pleasure working with Amy – it always felt like a safe pair of hands. She needed very little instruction and instantly understood what we were trying to achieve. Her ideas fit the brief perfectly and were developed thoroughly, efficiently and to deadline. Alongside developing all the plans, detailed delivery notes and resources she also lead a consultation with local school teachers which was really well received. Amy was always extremely professional and has expertly brought our Museum content and collections to life through a really exciting set of learning packages. I can’t wait to deliver them!'

'It’s been a joy to work with Amy on our Carbon Literate Centre research. She ‘got’ the project and us straightaway. She was able to strike that difficult balance of having knowledge of the subject matter to undertake a detailed investigation of our options, but objective enough to question some basic assumptions at the core of the project that made us think about what we wanted this project to achieve.

I’m amazed at the depth of research Amy was able to undertake in a relatively short space of time, and the resulting report is a rich source of information that will help steer our Carbon Literate Centre idea into a reality.'

'It was a very fortunate day for me when I attended a Museum Forum meeting and heard about the work that Amy had done for the Peace Museum in Bradford. I had been struggling to find good ways to improve the curriculum offer which we could make to schools at Colne Valley Museum. When I heard about the work Amy had been doing I contacted her the next day to discover if she would be interested and If she would be available to help us.  I am delighted to say that she was and she could. From the very first telephone contact I knew that I had found someone that I could work with and someone who would be interested in our small independent museum.  When we met my views were confirmed and I cannot speak highly enough of the work she has produced for us.

Amy came to find out about our collection as well as our buildings and she was able to suggest ways of using them that we had never considered.  She has written four new curriculum offers which we can make to schools.  Votes for women, weavers at war, local history explorers and Weaving STEAM all wonderfully researched and planned in detail.  Everything is suitably linked to the National Curriculum and teachers can be confident in achieving their goals. Any questions and problems were answered promptly and nothing was too much trouble.

I have been recommending her work to other museums, I am just glad that she had the time to help us and to provide an extremely valuable resource for our future as a first class education establishment.'

'We recently employed Amy to work with us whilst our Education Officer is on maternity leave. Amy supported us to conduct an audit of current museum education provision, consult with teachers on their needs and to write a Learning strategy and Action Plan to take us forward with the creation of a new education programme for our new museum development.

Amy is a consummate professional who was totally committed to providing the best service and a high quality product at the end of the project. Amy worked collaboratively at all stages to ensure that we were happy with the way the project was developing and that the strategy and plan were going to meet everyone’s needs. Amy has provided us with a comprehensive product, delivered on time and within budget. Working with Amy has been an absolute pleasure, she brought with her extensive knowledge and expertise of the museum education sector and the needs of teachers and pupils. We are very grateful for all of her hard work and I would have no hesitation in employing Amy for other projects in the future.'

'At The Peace Museum we employed Amy to develop KS2 National Curriculum compliant educational workshop units, based on some key peace related themes. Amy proved to be a very successful appointment. She related well to our staff member, understood the ethos of The Peace Museum and brought her considerable expertise as a qualified teacher and museum professional to the task.

Amy worked with enterprise, imagination and dedication from conception through realisation to marketing advice. Tested on trial schools, the units were very well received. We are very pleased with the outcome, which forms a significant development of The Peace Museum's outreach. We would have no hesitation in engaging Amy again.'
